TRT Dose question

I have another post that hasn’t gotten any traction.

I’ve been on trt for about 5 years and recently had labs done on my own to see where I am and was surprised at the results for my total T and Free T.

Why is it so high on such a small dose? I’ve had labs done in the past and lowered my does because the numbers were so high.

I am currently at twice a week injection and 60mg/ml so that’s 120 total.

My total was at 1750 and free at 434. I’ve been at higher dose in the past and tested less but lowered the dose in a ln attempt to bring the numbers down.

Could the labs be wrong? Last three labs it was trending down at smaller dose and then out of know where this crazy high number on less.

I’m gonna knock it down again I suppose to 100 split into twice a week and retest in 6 weeks.

Thanks for any insight/advice.

Are those peak or trought levels? You say you are injecting twice a week with a 60 mg/ml solution so 120 total - but that isn't enough information. What volume are you injecting - presumable 1 ml each pin, but you don't state that. What ester are you injecting - cypionate, enanthate, sustanon? Most of the Tesosterone multidose vials come as 200 mg/ml or sometimes 250 mg/ml. What preparation is only supplying 60 mg/ml?

Yes that’s trough. Labs done on Friday and last pin was Tuesday. I pin Tuesday and Saturday.

Vials are 200mg/ml

So on a 3ml syringe I draw to third line wich I believe would be 60 or is my math incorrect.

It is test cyp.

Either the lab is an error or the testosterone vial is suspect. No way to have those levels at that dose. I would repeat the lab first
Something else to note is that my estradiol is also elevated. When my total T was @1200 it was 42 and now with total T at 1700 is 87.

I could see if the labs were off and goofed up the total and free T but how is the estradiol also off?

Estradiol being that high would indicate that the total T could In fact be correct, couldn’t it?

No that would be the entire vial and I’m not doing that
Post a picture of your vial and syringes.

You say this:

The entire vial is not 200 mg, it’s 200 mg for every mL. If you are using a 3 mL syringe and filling it up one third of the way, that means you are injecting 1 mL. Which means you are injecting 200 mg every time you inject that amount.

Post a picture of your vial and syringes.

Maybe I’m losing what I’m saying typing.

Entire vial is 1ml 200ml/mg so the entire vial is 200ml/mg for 1ml.

I’m not filing 1/3 of the syringe. Only to the third line from the top. Each line is 20ml.

I’ll work on some photos if it’s still confusing.

Yes we need pics. There's no way each line is 20 ml for example.
I’m still trying to post pictures but after reading back through all this I can say I totally screwed this post up.

let’s me try one more time. I am taking 120mg a week split into 2 doses taken on Tuesday and Saturday. That would be 60mg each.

Where I botched the post is in the syringe details. 3ml syringe so each small line is 0.1 so 3 lines is 0.3mg. That amount twice a week is 0.6mg and would be 120mg of my 200mg 1ml vial.

Hopefullly this corrects the info in this post and if not I’ll come back around when I figure out how to post the pictures. Whenever I try to attach them the site just says”oops something went wrong”.

Sorry for all the confusion.

Yeah that makes sense. With that out of the way, my next thoughts/questions would be:

1.) you say you had these labs done on your own… with that being the case I’m guessing in the past your labs were handled by your prescriber. Did you use a different lab for testing? Regardless of if it’s a different lab or the same, it could still be an anomaly either way so I’d be hesitant to make changes based on what may be a single outlier.

2.) you weren’t really at try trough. Your trough labs should be done the morning of your injection. That means they should have been done on Saturday instead of Friday. If your previous labs were done in the day of your injection, those 24 hours could also explain some of the discrepancy.

3.) are you having unwanted side effects, or are you just chasing certain numbers on lab work?

I’ve used discounted labs for all lab work. I’ve always been on this injection timing and same day for labs. Just seems out of line that it’s this high this time.

The only sides are just “knowing” about the elevated hematocrit and high T levels

I was a frequent blood donor and that kept the rbc count down but they now test your hemoglobin with some light ring around the finger and say mine is to low to donate which I know is not possible.

It also seems crazy that such a low dose would get my numbers that high as I’ve been on higher dose in the past and tested less.

The only thing that may be new is lately i seem to be more fatigued and have a little less motivation.

If I get the picture thing sorted I can post complete labs.

Thanks

At this point I’d say the most likely explanation is an erroneous test. The best way to confirm this would be to stay at your current dose (120/week) and retest in a few weeks. Instead, you decide to drop your dosage even further despite experiencing increased fatigue and reduced motivation after your earlier reductions.

To me, it doesn’t seem likely that your levels would increase that much and result in those sides. Those sides seem more inline with someone lowering their dose and ultimately seeing lower levels, which is another reason I said the erroneous test seems like a reasonable explanation at this point.

In your other thread you said your hematocrit is a little over 52. Everyone has to decide where they feel comfortable on that front, but there is some decent evidence that as long as it doesn’t go over 54% there isn’t an increased risk of issues from elevated hematocrit.

At this point, in my personal opinion I think you are too fixated on this set of labs(and possibly too fixated on labs in general). Again, what makes more sense to you… that you went down 120 per week from 160 while your levels went up, or that the test is erroneous?

Thanks and that makes since. I plan to retest to confirm results.
