In this episode, Dr. Brandon & Dr. Morgentaler talk about testosterone treatment for men who want to preserve fertility, including Clomid, hCG, and enclomiphene. They also take a closer look at whether exercise actually increases testosterone, what the research shows about short-term changes after different types of exercise, and whether working out is an effective way to naturally raise testosterone levels.

Well, testosterone doesn't kill your fertility, it just pauses it while you're on test, it shut not shutdown your fertility permanently, this was already studies in 2 massive Chinese studies, over 6k men on test for years, 99% recovered their fertility. So test actually acts as a anti-conceptive + the upside of better mood energy drive etc.

Take home-point!

*Testosterone is useful as a contraceptive in human males; however, a regimen with 100% effectiveness has remained elusive.

Last, it is important to consider ethnic differences in interpreting the results of contraceptive trials. For unknown reasons, volunteers in Asia were more susceptible to the steroid suppression of spermatogenesis than were men studied in Europe, North America, and Australia (Handelsman et al, 1995). This difference is not solely a function of body mass and may point to either increased sensitivity to lowered FSH and LH levels, or to a decreased conversion of testosterone to DHT in the testis by differing isoforms of 5~-reductase (Anderson et al, 1996). While the mechanism remains to be elucidated, these differences are important in interpreting the results of various clinical trials and make extrapolation of the data to different populations difficult.
